Mission, Vision and Values
Our Mission
A CVA or TBI changes your life. Ensuring the well-being of people suffering from brain damage in the Eastern Townships and their loved ones is our priority.
Specifically, ACTE aims to:
- Help people who have suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or a stroke (CVA) and their loved ones get all the help, rehabilitation and psychosocial support services they need.
- Defend and promote their interests.
- Inform and raise public awareness about the reality experienced by people with brain injury and their family members.

Present throughout
the Eastern Townships
No matter where you are in the Eastern Townships, we can help you regain more autonomy, be better equipped and feel happier.
Partnership :
at the heart of our values
We work closely with health and social service stakeholders in the Eastern Townships. This allows us to offer the best services available to our members and always be on the lookout for the latest developments.
Trauma care continuum (TCC)
ACTE is part of the trauma care continuum. This unique model allows each person to quickly access the personalized services they need, depending on the complexity and severity of their condition.
Following a TBI:
The person is first admitted to the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS) for immediate care.
The CHUS then refers the person to the Centre de réadaptation Estrie (CRE) to continue receiving rehabilitation services.
Once rehabilitation is complete, the CRE informs individuals of the services offered by ACTE so that they can continue to get the support they need.
Comité d'Animation
de la Trajectoire AVC
Through the Comité d’Animation de la Trajectoires AVC, the partnership between the CHUS, CRE and ACTE promotes referrals of stroke patients to our organization.
